Day One, Group One

Three twenty inch fish greeted Dem Ones on their first day of fishing, as shown above with Brad “Pinky” Colton signing in the Twenty Inch Board with his 20.5” Blackfoot bull trout and Brian “Moraine” Shepard likewise doing the same with his pair of twenties, a 20” Clark Fork rainbow and a 20.5” similar bow, earning both Blackfoot House residents Yellow Hats. Mopping up the deck at the other end of the spectrum, pulled out of the larder, was a usually-reserved-for-Group Two “Cry Die” shirt for poor “Minnow Mel” McCormack for his woeful bemoaning of being shut out on Day One (as in catching zero fish while watching boat mate Pinky spank the water.

For all boats, Day One was a tougher one than normal, with “bluebird clear sky” conditions driving otherwise cooperative fish into the river bottom’s depths. Exceptions to that rule were Craig “El Senor Feo” Benjamin and boat mate Dave “Fired Up” Rohrbacher with a 30 fish showing; Chris “Cock of the Walk” Barger with a 15 fish day; and father Brian “Moraine” Shepard and daughter Eliza “Beautiful” Shepard with their 50 fish day, Eliza self-bestowing on herself the title of “Queen of the Whitefish”.

Weather conditions for Day Two will copy those of day one—imagine the shock of all to awaking up to temps in the mid-30’s and then increasing to fleece-peeing temps in the low 70’s...aaah, but Dem Ones are tough, all attributed to the copious quantities of red wine consumed by the august group on a nightly basis!!

Stay tuned for further updates on the at times spurious activities of these Wonderful Ones!
